Green Beans with Fried Garlic

  • 1 Lb green beans
  • 3 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic , peeled and thinly sliced lengthwise
  • 1/4 pinch salt (optional)
Place green beans in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover saucepan and steam 5-7 minutes or until bright green and almost tender. Heat oil in a heavy nonstick skillet over medium heat. Saut'e garlic slices about 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until golden. Do not burn. Using a slotted spoon, transfer garlic to drain on paper towels. Saut'e green beans in same skillet 3 minutes or until heated throughout. Stir in garlic, salt and pepper to taste.
